Job summary

respond.io, a fast-growing AI-powered business messaging platform, seeks a Senior Frontend Developer to own complex Vue 3 modules, ship secure, user-friendly features, and mentor teammates.

You will collaborate with Backend, implement real-time features via WebSockets, and build reusable components while leveraging AI tooling to streamline development and maintain high quality.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-4+ years of relevant software development and/or testing experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Vue.js, ideally Vue 3.
• Experience building Single Page Applications (SPA) using Web Sockets.
• Proficient with Vite/Rollup build tooling and Git/GitHub, including CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Vitest and Vue Test Utils for unit testing, Playwright for e2e testing.
• Self-starter, comfortable working independently under pressure.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, able to isolate tricky bugs quickly.
• Clear communicator in English, comfortable explaining complex ideas verbally and in writing.
• Node.js, Tan Stack Query, and Design Systems experience (with Storybook) is a plus.
• Performance profiling, bundle optimization, PWA, i18n, and Sentry familiarity is a plus.
• Exposure to a UI library such as Vuetify, Quasar, Shadcn, or Reka UI is a plus.
• GitHub profile link in your application is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Influence architecture decisions and technical direction of different modules, not just implementation.
• Shape the structure and design of platform modules and REST APIs, including real-time features on Web Sockets.
• Own complex product features end-to-end, working closely with the Backend Department.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to automate builds and testing.
• Utilized AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code/Cursor) and AI-assisted testing/review as a default workflow, not a fallback.
• Balance functional and aesthetic design, keeping every screen responsive and on-brand across devices.
• Develop reusable, well-documented frontend components and libraries the wider team can build on.
• Optimize application speed and scalability as our user base and feature set grow.
• Review code for quality, consistency, and performance, sharing feedback that helps the team improve.
• Troubleshoot and debug frontend issues quickly to keep the user experience smooth.
• Coach and mentor mid-level and junior developers as they grow into the team.

Role Description

You'll join our Frontend Department as a Senior Frontend Developer, taking ownership of complex modules within our Vue 3 single-page application. You'll own code development, automation, and testing to ship functional, secure, and user-friendly features, working closely with our Backend Department, raising the bar on code quality, and mentoring mid-level and junior developers.
