Job description

Company Background

Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing retail group with a strong regional presence, specializing in consumer products and services. With a robust footprint across key markets in Southeast Asia, the company operates through a network of retail outlets and e-commerce channels, offering a comprehensive range of products and solutions.

  • Work location: Shah Alam, Selangor
  • 5 working days (Mon-Fri), 8:30am-6pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the finance team to support daily operational finance matters and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Drive improvement initiatives to enhance operational and financial efficiency, including automation and process streamlining.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, statutory regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Optimize cash flow, enhance financial processes, and implement best practices across financial operations.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and senior leadership to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and performance analysis to support business sustainability and profitability.
  • Work direclty with Head of Finance and Ops Director in managing financial operations.
  • Liaise with business unit heads, auditors, tax agents and other relevant external parties.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or relevant professional certifications.
  • Prior experience in the retail sector with progressive experience in accounting and finance with minimum 3-5 years in a managerial position.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards, taxation, Companies Act, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis.
  • Analytical, meticulous, and hands-on with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work cross-functionally and lead a team effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements, implementing automation tools, and streamlining financial operations is highly desirable
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin language
