Reporting directly to the CEO/ GM, Corporate Services provides organizational leadership across the Group as part of the Management team. He is to ensure that the operations of the Corporate Services Departments meet the needs of the organization and that the activities of each department adhere to the Company’s policies.
In addition to the critical leadership of the Corporate Services Division, the Senior Manager has several organization-wide responsibilities and accountabilities that transcend all departments and contribute to the development of strategies and processes that result in the formulation and achievement of the Company’s overall goals and objectives.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK
- Provide leadership for the organization as a senior member of the Management team to create overall goals and objectives and make decisions that contribute to the achievement of the Company directed objectives.
- Contribute to and support the strategic direction and the overall management and growth of the Company.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Corporate Services division, comprised of Finance, Management of Information Services, and Facilities Management Departments by:
- Providing leadership and management of the Finance HOD/Manager, Management of Information Services HOD/Manager, and Facilities Management HOD/Manager;
- Establishing division goals and objectives in conjunction with department HODs/Managers that are reflective of the Corporate Strategic Plan;
- Providing strong leadership to project teams and managers to capitalize on their full potential;
- Reviewing annual area budget estimates with Departmental HODs/Managers and exercising expenditure control within approved budgets;
- Preparing and/or reviewing the capital budget and 5-year capital projects for the division;
- Ensuring that all reports from Corporate Services to the CEO’s office contain the necessary information and provide the appropriate recommendations to assist the CEO in its decision-making process.
- Responsible for overseeing the strategic development of the Company’s long-term financial plan and all financial and business planning services.
- Responsible for policy development that assists in the operation of the function within the Corporate Services Division.
- Ensure the organization is in full compliance with all relevant legislation and Company administrative policies.
- Guide organization-wide change management initiatives.
- Maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure an effective and inclusive system for internal communication exists between staff and management. Ensure all staff are made aware of the Company’s mission, vision, and goals for both the long and short term.
- Keep abreast of trends and developments in automotive, insurance, and financial operations and recommend new and innovative approaches to enhance the performance of the Company.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform monthly forecasts and provide support to Business Units in analyzing financial and operations results, highlighting areas of concern to Management.
- Manage cash flows of the Company within the Group to ensure efficient use of funds and adequacy of working capital.
- Timely and accurate preparation and maintenance of management accounts, financial reports, annual budget, and monthly cash flow forecasts, including quarterly accounts and notes for statutory bodies.
- Monitor internal controls and develop effective and timely reporting processes.
- Provide accurate and timely financial and management information for decision-making of Management.
- Coordinate to ensure the annual audit of the Group is completed timely.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, Facilities Management Department, and MIS, monitoring internal controls and developing effective and timely reporting processes.
- Liaise with internal and external parties including bankers, auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and legal advisors for statutory compliance and legislative requirements.
- Prepare specific analyses according to management requests and needs.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to subordinates.
- Plan, monitor, and coordinate management decisions concerning financial implications.
- Implement effective internal control procedures.
- Collate and prepare information required for the Company budget meeting corporate objectives and management decision-making.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date product cost information to ensure profit targets are achieved.
- Prepare management accounts and highlight variances for effective operational improvements.
- Evaluate stock holdings and determine valuations conforming to standards and cost-cutting measures.
- Liaise with HODs and Managers on effective information systems, recommending changes to the CEO.
- Work on development and financial improvement projects beneficial to the Company.
- Perform other ad-hoc corporate assignments as required.
- Work closely with the MIS Department to develop and improve the ERP/Management Information System.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum degree in Accountancy.
- Member of MIA and/or ACCA/ICMA.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong leadership skills in cost management.
- High integrity and confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, especially Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Meticulous, organized, proactive, independent, resourceful, and results-oriented.
- Good understanding of large-scale IT systems, especially ERPs and CRMs.
