Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager forour client, in the electronics manufacturing space to oversee all financial activities at their manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring effective financial planning, regulatory adherence, and alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives. The role also includes managing product and manufacturing cost analysis, along with warehouse financial oversight, to enhance transparency, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Management
- Lead the development and execution of financial budgets, forecasts, and multi-year plans for the plant.
- Deliver actionable financial insights to support strategic initiatives and drive cost-saving measures.
- Build and implement financial models to analyze product-level profitability and identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Provide analytical support to plant leadership through scenario modeling, margin evaluations, and capital investment planning.
Costing and Manufacturing Finance
- Create and maintain comprehensive cost structures, covering materials, labor, and overhead allocations.
- Ensure precise product costing processes to inform pricing strategies, cost containment, and margin improvements.
- Investigate cost variances and suggest practical solutions for process enhancements.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to assess the financial implications of process changes and bill of materials updates.
- Oversee cost roll-ups and confirm consistency between financial and production systems.
Core Financial Operations
- Manage routine finance operations such as accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and cash flow tracking.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial close processes and internal/external reporting.
- Monitor capital and operational expenditures, ensuring alignment with budget forecasts and return expectations.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain full compliance with local accounting standards, tax laws, and internal financial policies.
- Facilitate coordination with internal and external auditors and promptly resolve any compliance issues.
- Identify potential financial risks and implement preventative and corrective controls.
Inventory and Warehouse Finance
- Directly supervise inventory and warehouse financial operations through collaboration with the Warehouse Manager.
- Guarantee accurate inventory valuations and regular reconciliation with accounting records.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Production departments to streamline inventory flow, minimize overstock, and optimize working capital usage.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and develop finance and warehouse personnel, promoting a culture of accountability, engagement, and high performance.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including process automation and digital finance transformation.
- Encourage financial discipline and foster collaborative efforts across departments to enhance cost control and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline; professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is strongly preferred
- At least 10 years of progressive finance experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics manufacturing services.
- Strong expertise in product and manufacturing cost accounting and variance analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, audit procedures, and financial regulations.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle and advanced financial reporting systems.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional production environment.
