Job summary

Woh Hup Group in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Finance Executive, Treasury to oversee end-to-end finance operations for the Malaysian investment holding company and support group treasury and banking matters.

You will work with senior stakeholders, banks, auditors, tax agents and regulators, handling cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning and banking relationships, while ensuring compliance with local standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or related discipline.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, banking or related finance functions.
• Finance professional qualification and SAP knowledge will be an added advantage.
• MNC experience will be valuable for processes, reporting and compliance with local/international standards.
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and high integrity.

Responsibilities

• Transactional accounting and closing processes: perform month end close activities, oversee accounts payable and receivable, prepare submissions to auditors, IRB and others, and mitigate risks.
• Financial reporting and analysis: prepare monthly/ quarterly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and annual financial statements; monitor investment performance and provide analysis for management and board.
• Statutory, tax and governance: coordinate statutory audits, tax filings and company secretarial matters; prepare board papers and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Cash and liquidity management: support cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning and funding for Malaysia entities and prepare treasury reports.
• Banking and facility management: manage relationships with Malaysian banks; handle facility applications, renewals, covenants, and bank guarantees.
• Treasury operations and controls: support bank account administration, signatory mandates and payment controls; ensure compliance with treasury policies and regulatory requirements.
• Process improvement and strategic projects: drive process/system enhancements and support expansion and other initiatives.

Job description

The Senior Finance Executive, Treasury will manage the end to end finance operations of the Malaysia investment holding company, as well as supporting the Group’s Malaysia treasury and banking matters. The role offers exposure across entity finance, treasury and corporate finance, working closely with senior stakeholders, banks, auditors, tax agents, company secretaries and regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Transactional accounting and closing processes: Perform month end close activities including accurately recording and reviewing financial transactions, overseeing critical accounts payable and receivable processes, preparing submissions to external auditors, IRB and other parties, and identifying ways to mitigate risks and continuously improve.
• Financial reporting and analysis: Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards. Monitor investment performance and provide analysis and insights to support management and board decision making.
• Statutory, tax and governance: Coordinate the statutory audit, tax filings and company secretarial matters with auditors, tax agents and company secretaries. Prepare board papers and ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
• Cash and liquidity management: Support cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning and funding requirements for the Group’s Malaysia entities, and prepare treasury reports for management and Group Treasury, when required.
• Banking and facility management: Manage relationships with Malaysian banks and financial institutions alongside Group Treasury, and perform day to day Treasury activities including facility applications, renewals and documentation, covenant monitoring, and the issuance and tracking of bank guarantees and performance bonds.
• Treasury operations and controls: Support bank account administration, signatory mandates and payment controls, and ensure compliance with Group treasury policies and Malaysian regulatory requirements, including Bank Negara Malaysia foreign exchange policies. Maintain appropriate treasury documentation.
• Process improvement and strategic projects: Drive process and system enhancements across both portfolios, and support strategic projects, business expansion and other initiatives as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Banking or any related discipline.
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, banking or related finance functions, with exposure to financial reporting, treasury operations and banking activities. Experience managing the finance function of a standalone or holding entity will be an advantage.
• Finance professional qualification and SAP knowledge will be an added advantage.
• MNC experience will be valuable from the perspective of systems and processes and of reporting and accounting in compliance with local and international standards. Experience in the construction / asset heavy industries would also be valued.
