Senior Finance Executive

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity to join the finance team at A&W (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd as a Senior Finance Executive. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the company's financial records and reporting. This full-time position is based in Shah Alam, Selangor, and involves responsibilities supporting the company's financial operations.

What you'll be doing

1. Assist the Senior Finance Manager in supervising the monthly closing of accounts and the preparation of financial and management reports.
2. Assist in reviewing and preparing quarterly reports and year-end audits.
3. Handle taxation and audit matters in collaboration with the Senior Finance Manager.
4. Contribute to the development of cost standards and budget estimates.
5. Prepare cost reports and present findings to management.
6. Analyze actual costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.
7. Work closely with operations departments to develop cost-reduction strategies.
8. Perform cost audits and maintain cost accounting records.
9. Recommend cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options, and assist with financial analysis and forecasting.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in a similar finance role
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards
• Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
