Job description

We’re seeking a proactive and analytical Senior Executive – Finance to join our expanding team. This role involves managing group-wide financial planning, reporting, and operations, ensuring accurate reporting, effective cash management, and robust financial controls across our local and overseas entities.

You will collaborate closely with the Assistant Manager to oversee daily financial activities and support strategic initiatives. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy both hands-on tasks and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and analyze financial performance; identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
  2. Prepare and review annual financial forecasts for the Group and subsidiaries.
  3. Assist in budgeting, financial forecasting, consolidation, and reporting processes.
  4. Submit quarterly financial updates to MDEC.
  5. Management Reporting:
  6. Prepare and review monthly management accounts for subsidiaries.
  7. Analyze financial results to support business decisions.
  8. Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
  9. Oversee banking activities, cash flow, and treasury functions, including foreign exchange transactions and cash flow forecasting.
  10. Ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and strategic needs.
  11. Financial Operations:
  12. Verify and process payment vouchers and staff claims.
  13. Manage cheque issuance and online banking transactions, ensuring proper documentation in accordance with SOPs.
  14. Ensure subsidiaries adhere to SOPs and accounting standards.
  15. Provide guidance on accounting systems and internal processes.
  16. Budgeting & Forecasting:
  17. Coordinate and revise annual budgets and forecasts for the Group and subsidiaries.
  18. Consolidate financial data to support planning and strategic reviews.
  19. Governance & Compliance:
  20. Liaise with tax agents on tax matters and ensure timely submissions.
  21. Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with audit timelines and statutory reporting.
  22. Assist in internal audit processes and verify transaction accuracy.
  23. Strategic & Operational Support:
  24. Support the management in finance and accounting functions for subsidiaries.
  25. Assist in evaluating funding opportunities and preparing financial information for planning and proposals.
  26. Other Duties:
  27. Handle ad-hoc tasks or projects as assigned.

Job Specification:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting standards.
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, responsible, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with Biztrak or similar accounting software.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Advanced Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role or auditing.
