(Technoplex Penang) seeks a Senior Facilities Engineer to oversee electrical infrastructure and sustainability initiatives in a mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing setting. The role ensures 24/7 reliability, drives energy efficiency, and champions sustainability goals.

The candidate will lead facility operations, mentor a technical team, and manage CapEx and regulatory compliance within a high-volume production site in Penang.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Registered with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) and REM competency.
• Strong background in power distribution, HVAC and building management systems (BMS).
• Experience in sustainability project management and cost-reduction initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee high-voltage (up to 33kV) and low-voltage power systems, UPS, generators.
• Lead day-to-day facilities maintenance with safety and energy code compliance.
• Drive sustainability programs including energy retrofit, water conservation and waste reduction.
• Mentor and manage a high-performing technical team of engineers and technicians.
• Manage operating budgets, CapEx projects, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain oversight of site electrical systems (power distribution, transformers, switchgear).
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Project Engineering on new tool installations.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Facilities Engineer to oversee our electrical infrastructure and sustainability initiatives in a mission-critical semiconductor manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will lead facility operations, ensuring 24/7 reliability, optimizing energy efficiency, and championing our sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Leadership: Oversee high-voltage (up to 33kV) and low-voltage distribution, UPS, backup generators, and mission-critical power systems.

Operational Excellence: Manage day-to-day facilities maintenance, ensuring adherence to safety standards, energy code compliance, and minimal production downtime.

Sustainability Strategy: Drive the development and implementation of sustainability programs, including energy efficiency retrofits, water conservation projects, and waste reduction initiatives.

Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a high-performing technical team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Budget & Compliance: Manage operational budgets, capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, and ensure full compliance with regional regulatory bodies and local electricity supply acts

Infrastructure Reliability: Maintain rigorous oversight of site electrical systems (Power Distribution, Transformers, Switchgear).

Compliance & Audit: Ensure all operations meet the highest standards of safety (OSHA/DOSH equivalent) and adhere to energy commission regulations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing and Project Engineering teams to ensure new tool installations are efficient, sustainable, and reliable.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant

Registered with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) and possess REM (Registered Energy Manager) competency.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facility operations within a semiconductor, high-volume manufacturing, or mission-critical industrial setting.

Strong technical background in power distribution, HVAC, and building management systems (BMS).

Demonstrated experience in sustainability project management and cost-reduction initiatives.
