Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with requestor on requirement of materials request (DM, IDM inclusive capital equipment).
• Source for suppliers (local or oversea) that can supply materials based on requirement given by requestor.
• Request quotations from suppliers for benchmarking purpose.
• Negotiate with suppliers on price, terms, quality, and delivery.
• Process purchase orders by referring to the approval purchase requisition in e-PR system.
• Meet with suppliers to negotiate of improved pricing, product quality and delivery.
• Source for alternate suppliers for cost reduction opportunity with competitive price.
• Select potential suppliers to supply materials (DM or IDM) and capital equipment based on supplier selection procedure.
• Visit and audit new supplier factories in accordance with company policies and procedures, team up with Global Procurement team to support together.
• Update and key in new supplier profile in e-PR system with full compliance.
• Support the internal audits to ensure the organization is always in compliance mode and drive for Continuous Improvement (if any gap detected).
• Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the e-PR system.
• Perform Purchased Price Variance (PPV) to drive cost down opportunity for Stock item especially Direct Materials.
• Key driver for the site cost reduction plans / projects and report out quarterly.
• Conduct quarterly Supplier Review Forum to foster collaboration in the areas of Cost, Quality, Availability and Technology.
• Support quarterly Supplier Quality Assessment Scorecard for Supplier Quality Team function.
• Be the key lead for any Supply Line BCP and partner with internal team together. Work with Global Procurement team (as deemed necessary).

Job Requirements

• Posses a Bachelor's Degree in any Commercial or Engineering fields (Materials Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering) are encouraged to apply with working experience >10 years with strong desire to excel in business acumen and global procurement exposure. Candidates with Procurement Operation experience will be an added advantage.
• Written and verbal communication (English) must be good
• Proven Negotiation skills and be able to leverage the data (through Should Cost Model) to negotiate a better cost with supplier
• Proven Supplier Management skills in handling the purchase of DM and IDM inclusive capital equipment.
• Analytical skills through effective Excel proficiency (at least intermediate level) and using data to drive changes. Think innovatively for any procuring challenges.
• Benchmarking capability and be able to propose options to stakeholders to meet the business
• Foster collaborations for any key projects and drive engagements to optimize the solution
• Strong in handling conflicts, effective communicator and collaborator for any circumstances
• Result oriented, change focused and be able to drive big projects with sense of accountability to timeline and cost budget
