A leading company in Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Executive to ensure equipment reliability and manage maintenance activities effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in engineering and approximately 6 years of experience in FMCG or petrochemical industries. Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance schedules, inventory management, and compliance with safety policies, while demonstrating strong leadership and analytical skills. Ensure equipment reliability and availability for production by performing good maintenance activities as per scheduled and proactive maintenance plans.
Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for maintenance activities, machine spare parts, etc.
Be aware of and communicate the company's Quality Policy, Occupational Safety & Health Policy, and Environmental Policy to subordinates.
Understand and commit to protecting the environment by ensuring all activities and practices are oriented towards pollution prevention and compliance with legal requirements.
Apply Safety & Risk Management techniques in the workplace and participate in Safety Audits. Ensure subordinates do the same.
Ensure you and your subordinates understand the implications of improper job performance and the need for quality work.
Enforce company rules, regulations, disciplinary procedures, and general instructions issued by management.
Maintain a 5S standard of housekeeping in the work area and ensure subordinates do the same.
Develop and manage spare parts inventories in line with PETRONAS Material Management System:
Improve compliance with PETRONAS and PLISB requirements.
Enhance reliability of spare part inventory data.
Establish cost-effective control of spare parts.
Lead store personnel in day-to-day inventory activities.
Manage and maintain a clean, orderly spare part store and workspace, ensuring compliance with all regulation standards, lean manufacturing & 5S principles.
Ensure up-to-date and accurate spare part inventory information in SAP against physical stock.
Support management representative for certification (new / existing) and audits of Management System (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.).
Manage, coach, and develop subordinates in day-to-day operations, welfare, and discipline.
Schedule maintenance & repair of all mechanical related equipment/machines to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Coordinate work tasks relating to shut down, EMOC, lock-out, and tag-out with other sections to ensure continual operations and strengthen teamwork spirit.
Maintain records of equipment breakdowns. Provide analysis on breakdown frequency and propose corrective measures to minimize downtime.
Monitor and update Maintenance Manager on areas needing improvement in the upkeep of all plant equipment and facilities.
Ensure management of changes (EMOC) are according to procedures, and that changes to facilities and equipment are carried out accurately, recorded, and kept up-to-date in the archive system.
To maintain, service and repair filling, capping and packing machines 100% related to mechanical issues as follows:
Drum & MPL Filling Line, Matrix, Pail Filling Line, Boilers, APE Filling Line, Robot, Comaco Filling Line, Plant Roofing, Serac Filling Line, Pumps & Strainers, Pigging System, Piping & Flexible hose Works (Tank Farm Until FOST Tank), Fire Fighting Equipment, Air Compressor and Plant Toilets.
Carry out plant preventive maintenance as per schedule (M-Plan) drawn up by the Maintenance Manager.
Liaise with company-appointed electrical engineer during monthly inspections and carry out corrective actions arising from the inspection.
Maintain, repair, and service all PLC and pneumatic operated instruments for all filling, packing, and conveying machines to minimize production downtime.
Manage all safety-critical equipment (High level alarm, Earthing circuit, Electrical switch board thermal scanning & Transformers & associated switch gear) related to DOSH & Suruhanjaya Tenaga inspection.
Implement & maintain service contracts to reduce downtime.
Prepare and maintain a list of critical spare parts for all plant machines and ensure spare parts are available in the shortest time during machine breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Timely review and update the equipment listing, history and asset register in SAP.
Execute multiple tasks with minimum supervision and without reminders.
Timely review and update the Equipment Criticality Assessment (ECA) for all equipment.
Develop equipment BOM, SOW For OPEX & CAPEX, PO, RO & Service Contract.
To monitor and control unscheduled downtime to improve OEE.
Monitor and control costs consistently throughout the year to ensure spending is in line with the budget.
Ensure safe, timely and effective delivery of all programs and projects in the plant.
All the Capex projects need to be close as per schedule given by Maintenance Manager
Monitor and control project costs (CAPEX) consistently and take necessary actions that may cause significant variance against the planned budget.
Monitor and control maintenance costs (OPEX) consistently and take necessary actions that may cause significant variance against the planned budget.
Ensure effective and efficient operations by meeting the agreed KPIs and implement best in class manufacturing particles.
Qualifications & Education:
Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering or other professional certificates in any related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge:
Approximately 6 years of relevant maintenance experiences in FMCG/ Semi-conductor/Petrochemicals & operations or oil & gas industry. A plus if has minimum 5 years experiences in CMMS, SAP, PLC and Microsoft Project.
Leadership, planning, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal.
Must be able to have good management skills too.
Possess management skills on planning, organizing, communication and problem solving.
Experienced in the use of the 7 QC tools.
Familiar with ISO 9001 and / or IATF 16949 Management Systems.
Hands-on experience in Material Management with SAP MM, SAP PM and SAP SRM modules would have an added advantage.
Proficient in technical drawings and P&ID drawings.
Excellent personal integrity, interpersonal skills, detail oriented and able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
Excellent command in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and oral.
Possess skills on planning, organizing, communicating and problem solving.
