Job summary

A leading solar system integrator in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Executive / AM to manage contract and commercial responsibilities. Key duties include preparing tender documents, cost estimation, and budget monitoring for solar projects. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, have strong negotiation skills, and experience in the solar or construction industry.

Qualifications

SENIOR EXECUTIVE / AM - CONTRACT & COMMERCIAL

Preparing, maintaining, and managing tender documents, including BoQ, costing, unit prices, tender clarifications, and risk analysis.

Prepare the costing for pre-contract and post-contract phases.

Evaluate price comparisons and create costing summaries to analyze and ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards of supplier and subcontractor bids.

Prepare tender proposals, manage client correspondences, and monitor budgets.

Track quantities, project costing, and control profit margins.

Participate in audits and project reviews to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.

Cost Estimation and Budgeting

Prepare detailed cost estimates based on project scope, design, and specifications for solar projects.

Collaborate with the project management team to ensure adherence to budgets and monitor project costs.

Conduct cost benchmarking and value engineering to identify potential savings without compromising quality.

Job requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying (QS), contract management, or a related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in solar, energy, or construction industries.

Strong understanding of contracts, tender processes, procurement strategies in the EPCC sector, and proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.

Familiarity with cost estimation techniques, contract law, and construction regulations.

Good negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Skills:

Experience in renewable energy projects, especially solar PV.

Familiarity with industry-standard cost databases and software (e.g., CostX, WinQS).
