MILA University is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Executive – Accounts Payable to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers and creditors.
Assist in preparing monthly AP and Asset Module closing reports.
Collaborate with procurement, facilities, and operations to verify POs, DOs, and invoices.
Handle daily full set accounting functions, including reconciliations and responding to AP-related queries.
Support monthly and year-end closing, including audit preparations and liaising with auditors.
Post daily and month-end transactions into the accounting system with accuracy and timeliness.
Verify and maintain vendor records, including new registrations and updates in the system.
Perform monthly supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized records and ensure audit readiness.
Possess or willing to learn about e-invoicing systems (added advantage).
Collaborate with internal teams to identify and resolve root causes of AP issues.
Constantly seek improvements in the AP process and support finance initiatives.
Take on ad hoc assignments as needed.
Requirements:
2–3 years of experience in accounts payable or similar finance roles.
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
Detail-oriented with strong numerical and analytical skills.
Proficient in accounting software, ERP systems, and spreadsheets.
Solid knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you’ll be working with internal teams and vendors.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Time management pro – you meet deadlines without breaking a sweat.
Willing to work extended hours when necessary.
