Job summary

Medtronic plc, a global leader in healthcare technology, is seeking a Senior Equipment Engineer for its Kulim, Malaysia site. You will oversee equipment installation, qualification, and maintenance, while driving uptime and process improvements across manufacturing lines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 7+ years in manufacturing, with hands-on experience in equipment setup, troubleshooting, and data analysis using Minitab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
• Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in medical devices or regulated industries.
• Hands-on experience with equipment installation, setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Experience using Minitab for data analysis and SPC implementation.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for the patients we serve and an unrelenting commitment to our new venture in Malaysia. **Responsibilities may include the following and other duties as assigned:** · Evaluates, selects, and orders equipment that is most appropriate and cost-effective for the manufacture of company products.· Oversees the installation, qualification, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.· Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.· Studies equipment performance and reliability.· Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and resolving equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.· Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering teams.· Manages spare parts to ensure availability for equipment maintenance and repair while minimizing downtime.· Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules.· Provides training to production personnel, technicians, and engineers.· Leads or participates in development, training, qualification, and validation activities for product or technology transfers.· Designs machine layouts within plant facilities to optimize efficiency and productivity.· Partners with Manufacturing Engineers to set up equipment and bring it to the required operating parameters. **Required Knowledge and Experience:** · Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.· Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in medical devices or other regulated industries.· Hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment installation, setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.· Hands-on experience using Minitab for data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation.· Experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology and continuous improvement programs.· Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and Malay.· Willingness and ability to travel internationally for extended periods, typically 2 to 6 months or longer depending on training needs. **Preferred Qualifications:** · Experience supporting radio frequency (RF) equipment, molding-machine setup, ovens, coating machines, sealers, or bench-top equipment with rotating or moving mechanical parts.· Practical knowledge of project management is a plus.**Physical Job Requirements** The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.**Recruitment Fraud Alert** We are aware of phishing scams targeting job seekers.
