Job description

In this role, your responsibilities will be:

Align your work with division policies, goals, and strategic priorities to drive business success.

Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers across Asia to build a reliable, high-performing supplier network.

Lead sourcing plans to ensure timely and efficient delivery of direct materials for Nilai, Asia Pacific, and global sites.

Drive cost savings by exploring alternative sourcing options, product design improvements, and market benchmarking.

Monitor supplier performance to uphold quality standards and promote continuous improvement.

Qualify suppliers to support smooth product line transfers and successful new product launches.

Manage the end-to-end sourcing process—from preparing quotes and evaluating offers to negotiating terms and selecting suppliers.

Collaborate with Production and Materials Management teams to maintain efficient inventory levels and ensure smooth material flow.

Partner with R&D and Product Engineering to align sourcing efforts with new product development and transfers.

Work closely with ACT Asia Pacific manufacturing sites to consolidate pricing and maximize regional sourcing benefits.

Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with global procurement goals and leverage regional cost advantages.

Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and global partners to achieve shared objectives.

Use company-approved tools and systems (e.g., RFQs, eSourcing) to execute sourcing activities efficiently.

Negotiate supplier agreements in compliance with corporate legal standards and category-specific guidelines.

Support supplier audits and quality assurance efforts alongside Nilai Operations.

Actively contribute to ISO certification processes and maintain compliance with industry standards.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date records, including tooling status, approved supplier lists, and project timelines.

Assist in preparing and managing annual CapEx and OpEx budgets, supervising expenditures against plans.

Measure supplier performance using key metrics—including cost savings, delivery reliability, service quality, and payment terms—and drive improvements.

Apply risk assessment techniques to ensure supplier continuity and proactively minimize supply chain disruptions.

Execute annual sourcing plans aligned with broader business goals to foster continuous growth.

Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team success and evolving company priorities.

Who You Are:

You’re a proactive, results-driven sourcing professional with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize and manage tasks independently. With over 5 years of procurement experience in Asia, deep knowledge of MRP and production planning, and confidence negotiating supplier agreements while traveling across the Asia Pacific region, you’re ready to make an impact—and we want to hear from you.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience negotiating sophisticated supplier contracts and agreements.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the Asia Pacific region and occasionally globally.
  • At least 5 years of procurement or sourcing experience passionate about Asia-based suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Strong understanding of materials planning processes, including MRP and production scheduling.
  • Experience with reverse auction or eSourcing tools is a valuable advantage.
