Job summary

A leading construction firm in Port Dickson, Malaysia, is seeking a Site Engineer to monitor construction progress and ensure quality standards are met. The ideal candidate has a degree in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include coordinating with contractors, formulating construction procedures, and managing QA/QC systems. This position requires strong communication skills and environmental management knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Must possess knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System Standards.
  • Attended any environmental related competency training.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for construction site works progress monitoring and tracking, ensure satisfactorily implementation of QA/QC during construction stage, and monitor the performance of project contractors and resident consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist to formulate construction procedures.
  • Ensure our interest is protected and to minimize contractual claims.
  • Provide ideas to resolve construction issues.
  • Provide supports on construction to the team.
  • Planning and coordination with authorities to obtain CF.
  • Monitor progress of works vs. billing target.
  • Inspection and ensure quality of works at site.
  • Monitor implementation of QAQC system at site.
  • Ensure construction drawings with sufficient details for construction.
  • Ensure construction compliance to specifications.
  • Ensure constructed details tallied with BPA, SPA and marketing specification.
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors for smooth construction process.
  • To attend to authorities’ inspections and tests.
  • To assist in certifying progress claim by GESB.
  • Attend weekly site meeting.
  • Attend monthly HSE meeting.
  • Review and propose solution to construction issues within cost budget.
  • Maintain good working relationship and coordination with inter-departments and colleagues to ensure smooth work progress.
  • To monitor quality of works to the required standards.
  • To raise complaint on defects during construction stage.
  • To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and work place as required by the Company.
  • Any other duties that will be assigned from time to time by the Management.

Qualifications

Degree in B.Sc. in Civil Engineering

Skills & Abilities

  • Must possess knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System Standards, attended any environmental related competency training (eg CESSWI/ CePSWaM) and Environmental Management System auditor training
  • Able to communicate with all levels, assertive and initiative.
