Job summary

Singtel Group in Kuala Lumpur seeks an experienced Platform Infrastructure Engineer to operate, support, and troubleshoot private cloud infra across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and container platforms. The role focuses on Day 2 operations for OpenShift, Kubernetes, and virtualization stacks, with strong incident management responsibilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and support private cloud infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and container platforms.
• Monitor health, capacity, availability, and performance; take proactive action to prevent service degradation.
• Troubleshoot hardware and infrastructure issues involving servers, storage, networking, OS, hypervisors, and platform components.
• Manage OpenShift and Kubernetes environments, including pods, nodes, storage, networking, and connectivity.
• Identify root causes across application, container, platform, network, storage, or physical infrastructure.
• Support platform upgrades, patches, certificate management, and other lifecycle activities.
• Monitor workloads, respond to incidents, and troubleshoot using logs, metrics, alerts, observability tools.
• Develop runbooks and automation through scripting, IaC, and configuration management.
• Support hardware/RMA activities and participate in on-call or operational support.
• Work with Change Management to implement patches for quality and resiliency.
• Ensure SLA targets, and craft reports and metrics for capacity planning and improvements.

We are seeking an experienced Platform Infrastructure Engineer to operate, support, and troubleshoot enterprise private cloud infrastructure across the physical infrastructure, virtualization, and container platforms.

The role has a strong operational andDay 2 support focus, with particular emphasis on Red Hat OpenShift, OpenShift Virtualization, Kubernetes containers, and Virtualization (VMware/Nutanix/HyperV).

The engineer will be responsible for maintaining platform availability, diagnosing infrastructure and workload issues, resolving incidents, and working across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and container layers to identify root causes

The successful candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting complex problems that span multiple layers of the technology stack and should be capable of independently resolving common OpenShift and Kubernetes operational issues.

• Troubleshoot application issues sufficiently to determine whether problems originate from the application, container, Kubernetes/OpenShift platform, network, storage, virtualization, or underlying physical infrastructure.
• Support platform upgrades, patching, certificate management, configuration changes, and other lifecycle activities.
• Monitor infrastructure and workloads, respond to incidents, and troubleshoot issues using logs, metrics, alerts, and observability tools.
• Develop runbooks and troubleshooting procedures while driving automation through scripting, Infrastructure-as-Code, and configuration management.
• Support hardware/RMA activities and participate in on‑call or operational support as required.
• Work with Change Management to propose and implement changes, especially for patching for ongoing quality, efficiency and resiliency requirements
• Ensure that operational SLA's are met, and crafting meaningful reports and metrics to track progress of current infrastructure, including capacity planning and operational improvements

Skills for Success:

• Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• 3-7+ years of infrastructure or cloud operations experience, with meaningful hands‑on exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
• Experience supporting production infrastructure and applications in environments with defined incident, change, and problem-management processes.
• Strong practical knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes/OpenShift workloads in production environments.
• Strong understanding of virtualization concepts including VM lifecycle, compute allocation, virtual networking, storage, snapshots, and migration.
