Job Description

In your new role, you will:

1. Perform Discrete Devices and IC (complex test structure / parametric) Failure Analysis (FA) on wafer and package level, including electrical verification, fault isolation, and physical root cause analysis.
2. Prepare FA reports that facilitate root cause identification and corrective actions for cross-functional teams.
3. Participate in and present FA results during cross-functional meetings, projects, yield improvement initiatives, and urgent issues. Own FA equipment and tools.
4. Collaborate with test, product, process integration, and unit process engineers to understand analysis requirements.
5. Support the development of new FA skills and techniques to improve analysis quality, speed, and cost efficiency.

Your Profile

You are best suited for this role if you have:

1. A Degree, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Physics.
2. At least 4 years of experience in Failure Analysis or Semiconductor Manufacturing Industry.
3. Familiarity with advanced electrical failure verification and localization techniques, sample preparation, imaging methods (optical, SEM, FIB), and re-packaging skills.
4. A solid understanding of semiconductor technology, devices, layout, and electronic circuits.
5. Knowledge of FA processes, internal standards, risk management, and legal requirements.
6. No direct supervisory responsibilities required.
7. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex situations.

Experience in industry fields different from failure analysis will also be considered for those interested in transitioning into this area.
