A leading semiconductor manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Engineer to oversee maintenance and project design for electrical systems. · Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all electrical systems, including but not limited to power distribution, lighting, HVAC electrical components, emergency power, and specialized equipment.
· Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high levels of productivity and technical proficiency.
· Schedule and assign maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
· Optimize maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of electrical assets.
· Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for electrical systems.
2. Project Design and Construction Site Coordination:
· Lead the design and engineering of new electrical installations, upgrades, and modifications for various facilities projects, ensuring adherence to relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
· Prepare detailed electrical specifications, drawings, and scope of works for projects.
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, IT, safety) and external contractors/consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
· Oversee and supervise electrical construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and project timelines.
· Conduct site inspections, resolve technical issues, and provide on-site guidance to ensure successful project execution.
3. System Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis:
· Diagnose and resolve complex electrical system malfunctions, breakdowns, and performance issues efficiently.
· Lead and facilitate root cause analysis (RCA) using methodologies such as 8D (Eight Disciplines) or 5 Why to identify underlying problems and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
· Develop and maintain a knowledge base of common electrical issues and their resolutions.
· Implement predictive maintenance techniques to identify potential issues before they cause failures.
4. Project and Tender Management:
· Manage electrical projects from conception to completion, including defining project scope, developing budgets, creating timelines, and resource allocation.
· Prepare comprehensive tender documents for electrical works, including specifications, bill of quantities, and evaluation criteria.
· Evaluate contractor proposals, conduct technical and commercial negotiations, and recommend preferred vendors.
· Monitor project progress, manage variations, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
5. Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
· Ensure all electrical installations, maintenance activities, and projects comply with relevant local and national electrical codes, standards (e.g. EIU IEEE, etc), and regulations.
· Stay abreast of changes in electrical regulations and implement necessary updates to systems and procedures.
· Develop and enforce robust electrical safety procedures and protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
· Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments related to electrical systems and operations.
· Lead investigations of electrical incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on facilities management, maintenance, project design, and site supervision.
· Proven experience in managing electrical maintenance teams.
· Demonstrable experience in electrical project design, tender preparation, and construction coordination.
