Senior Engineer, Drilling
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Support the Exploration and Development Teams in meeting well delivery objectives safely and cost-effectively.
- Ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and safe practices throughout well planning, drilling operations, and interfaces.
- Plan, engineer, procure, and optimize well plans aligned with well objectives.
- Prepare well AFEs, monitor daily drilling costs, benchmark performance, and ensure accurate cost reporting and allocation.
- Conduct risk reviews, interface management, and contingency planning for well plans.
- Collaborate closely with the Drilling Superintendent and Supervisors during the execution phase of drilling operations.
- Coordinate with the Material and Logistics Team to ensure effective communication, planning, and operational support at the well-site.
- Serve as the primary contact for Subsurface teams regarding day-to-day operations.
- Provide drilling engineering and technical support to the Drilling Operations Supervision team from the office and field as needed.
- Plan and conduct DWOP and Pre-Spud Meetings for drilling operations.
- Ensure all regulatory requirements and guidelines are followed, including Petronas reporting and approvals.
- Complete Drilling End of Well reports within the required timeline post-operations.
- Coordinate with Completion, Subsea, Pipelines, and Project Engineering teams related to well scope.
- Maintain communication with partners, informing them of plans and ongoing operations.
- Support emergency situations to safeguard personnel, environment, assets, and wells.
- Ensure all regulatory permits are obtained before commencing well operations.
- Advise the Drilling Operation Supervision team on non-routine procedures and assist during emergencies.
- Maintain communication with contractor representatives regarding operational status, lookahead programs, troubleshooting, and technical matters.
- Conduct post-well review meetings, including After-Action Reviews and Service Quality meetings with service providers.
- Contribute drilling and completion input to field development plans.
- Assist other team members and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with proficiency in English, MS Office, Landmark Well Plan, Open Well, or equivalent; familiar with SAP in user role.
- Minimum 8 years of drilling experience.
- Experience in Engineering and Operations, preferably with 1-2 years offshore drilling experience.
- At least 5 years in Drilling Engineering.
- Experience with full cycle(s) of well delivery process.
