Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced Compounding Operations Manager to oversee all plant KPI deliverables within the compounding department. You will plan, supervise and coordinate daily activities to ensure productivity, product quality, on-time delivery, cost control and manpower efficiency.

Accountable for all plant KPI deliverable related matters in the plant operations under your jurisdiction. Manage, plan and communicate overall compounding operations to management and subordinates to ensure productivity, product quality, on time delivery, cost management and manpower efficiency of compounding and overall compounding related matters.
Monitor latex and chemical consumption and assist Manager to maintain adequacy of resources
Review latex order delivery schedule and check quality of chemicals delivery to ensure specifications are met before accepting for use
Ensure Latex, Coagulant and other sub preparation chemicals are prepared according to Production request and ready upon needs
Monitor quality of Latex Compound, Coagulant and other preparations, and initiate rework if failed specification
Monitor quality of softwater by ensuring regeneration of softener is done according to procedure and ensure soft water in storage tank is below 10ppm
Ensure CBCS system is operated according to SOP, monitor accuracy, and arrange for immediate rectification of any failures
Check all compounding record forms daily and implement corrective and improvement measures when necessary
Oversee and ensure all compounding procedures are performed in line with SOP
Provide on-job training for new executives and supervisors, and plan and assign relevant training for staff
Provide supervision and leadership to compounding department staff, coordinate daily activities and plan cleaning duty rosters
Coordinate with Maintenance Department for equipment repair and maintenance work
Prepare weekly and monthly chemical stock reports to monitor usage and prevent misuse or wastage
Organise and implement GMP requirements in the workplace and monitor departmental 5S progress
Monitor and ensure no expired chemicals are used, and that all unused or discontinued chemicals are removed or quarantined in designated areas
Define, communicate and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) for processes and equipment
Represent the department in internal and external audit meetings to ensure accurate reviews and resolve corrective actions within agreed timelines
Cultivate and enforce safe working practices to ensure safety of workforce and compliance to safety standards
Ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are utilised for workforce working in production areas
Periodically inspect and ensure workplace is kept clean and equipment are maintained to defined standards
Mentor team members to develop skills for comprehensive understanding of manufacturing environment and mandatory requirements
Manage team performance against target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and goals
Monitor workforce compliance in accordance with prevailing policies and guidelines
Ensure proper maintenance and good working condition of all equipment in the department
Stay abreast of latest developments and updates in rubber technology
Conduct regular inspections of equipment working conditions and compounding activities
Ensure inventories are properly maintained and updated, and that daily compounding activities, chemical stocks and physical balances are recorded accurately
Propose department improvement projects to management for continuous improvement and execute approved projects
Assume all responsibilities and authority of the manager in his/her absence
Ability to manage, plan and communicate overall compounding operations
Experience in resource management and monitoring of latex and chemical consumption
Knowledge of quality assurance and GMP requirements
Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI)
Ability to provide supervision and leadership to department staff
Experience in safety standards and compliance
Ability to mentor and develop team members
Experience in managing team performance against KPIs and goals
Knowledge of rubber technology and compounding operations
Strong record-keeping and inventory management skills
