Job summary

G-P is a remote-first global employment platform seeking an Employment Counsel for APAC to provide strategic legal guidance on complex employment matters across the Asia-Pacific region. You will report to the Employment Counsel APAC Director and own high-stakes initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative global environment.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of employment law experience, including in-house work, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Qualified to practice law in Malaysia, Philippines, or another major APAC common law jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of combined employment law experience, including solid law firm practice and at least 2 years in-house experience.
• Strong diligence and ability to meet critical SLAs and business objectives.
• Resilience under pressure with proactive, solutions-oriented mindset for urgent requests.
• Impeccable legal judgment and ability to balance risk with commercial imperatives.
• Excellent English with working proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality employment guidance on regulatory compliance and workforce management across APAC.
• Oversee employment-related disputes and litigation with in-house and outside counsel resources.
• Partner with Global Operations and People Team for timely, thorough legal follow-through on regional employee relations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to build scalable, compliant processes and templates.
• Develop and deliver practical in-house legal trainings for internal teams.
• Maintain current knowledge of national and local labor laws across APAC jurisdictions.
• Drive end-to-end cross-functional employment legal projects to completion.
