Job summary

Eagle Wireless Engineering Centre Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a Senior Software Engineer to architect and implement embedded software across application, kernel, and drivers on RTOS/Linux platforms.

You will lead technical designs, perform 3GPP protocol analysis, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on embedded software development on Linux and/or RTOS platforms.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming with embedded software design principles.
• Experience with user-space applications, Linux kernel, device drivers, multi-threading, IPC, socket programming, and hardware interfaces (SPI, USB, PCIe, Ethernet).
• Good understanding of networking protocols (IP, TCP/UDP, HTTP, FTP, SSL/TLS).
• Proven experience in software architecture design, embedded system design, and system optimization.
• Experience delivering software through full software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Architect and design scalable, reliable embedded software systems (application, kernel, drivers) on RTOS/Linux.
• Develop modem software functions and perform 3GPP protocol analysis; write clean, well-tested code.
• Conduct requirement analysis and research new technologies to guide technology choices.
• Produce high-quality technical documents: system architecture, functional design, guidance docs.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support internal teams (FAE, hardware, test).
• Lead features or projects from conception to delivery; coordinate tasks and unblock team.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Enforce high code quality through in-depth reviews and full lifecycle participation.
• Identify, prioritize, and mitigate technical debt and risks.
