Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to ensure reliable operation of motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, generators and substations. You will plan electrical work during shutdowns, overhauls and emergencies, and coordinate with maintenance teams.

Requirements include a Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years in related field in a contract role with normal working hours at the Kuantan, Malaysia site.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in electrical engineering
• 5+ years of experience in related field
• Contract employment status with normal working hours

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable operation of motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, generators, substations, and plant electrical systems.
• Plan electrical work during shutdowns, overhauls, and emergencies.
• Ensure availability of qualified personnel, test equipment, tools, and critical spare parts.
• Diagnose electrical faults involving motors, drives, control panels, power distribution, protection relays, and cables.
• Provide technical guidance to electricians and maintenance crews on inspection, testing, repair, installation and safe work practices.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, cable schedules, load calculations, technical specifications and work scopes.
• Conduct electrical safety inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Coordinate with operations, mechanical, instrumentation, procurement, contractors and management to improve plant performance.

Education

Diploma / Advanced Diploma / Higher Graduate Diploma / DVM / DKM Level 4 / DLKM Level 5 or Equivalent
