Job summary

RED Engineering Design in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead medium to large project scopes, delivering client-facing design and coordination of electrical services for building projects including data centres and hospitality sectors.

You will mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with relevant codes, and contribute hands-on technical input across the project lifecycle, from concept through commissioning, in a dynamic international consultancy.

Qualifications

• Licensed or degree qualified with international consulting experience.
• Pursuing MCIBSE/MIEE/Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
• Experience in specification design/drawing for at least one building type.
• Knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation.
• Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, and IT-based calculation tools.
• Understanding of BS design standards and international codes.

Responsibilities

• Runs medium to large projects and maintains a client facing role in development, design and coordination of project services.
• Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for building services.
• Surveys, tests and reports on existing electrical installations.
• Ensures drawings meet functional specifications and customer requirements.
• Makes day-to-day decisions on project progress and liaises with clients.
• Represents the Company at technical meetings with customers and contractors.
• Performs engineering calculations to ensure compliance with standards.
• Oversees Trainees, Graduates and Engineers for technical content accuracy.
• Validates and checks designs and specifications.
