A leading construction firm based in Malaysia is seeking a Project Manager with a degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in M&E projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all works comply with quality plans and contract specifications, manage subcontractors, and coordinate with various stakeholders. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Able to work under minimum supervision.

Job Duties

• Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the project quality plan, contract requirements including the drawings and specifications
• Monitor and control works including those of subcontractors to ensure compliance with the specified requirements
• Ensure material submission and approval, ordering and delivery are according to agreed schedules
• Liaise and coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, authorities and to establish rolling programme
• Coordinate meetings and daily briefings at site
• Check all installation drawings and prepare relevant schedule
• Perform testing and commissioning at work site
• Prepare shop drawings for construction
• Co-ordinate with the rest of the team right down to the foreman/subcontractor to ensure everyone is clear on the planning, scope, resource requirements
• Ensure that the works are carried out on time in accordance with the programme and on budget.
• Guide and support subordinates in carrying out the tasks as planned; Seek support from and report to superior if required
• Assess subcontractor performance against plan and resolve issues collaboratively; Escalate major deviations/delays from plan to superior in a timely manner

Job Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years of experience in M&E projects
• Preferably with relevant experience in the construction industry
• Good communications skills and able to work under minimum supervision
