Client Background:

They are well known for offering a wider range of high-quality, technically certified electrical products, including cables, lighting systems, and electrical consumables from internally recognised brands.

Job Description:
This role focuses on designing, commissioning, and optimizing electrical systems for marine vessels, with key responsibilities detailed below:

  • Electrical Design:
    • Collaborate on defining electrical system requirements and develop detailed schematics and layouts for marine vessel propulsion and control systems.
    • Select and integrate appropriate components and materials, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
    • Design control logic, automation, and monitoring systems to enhance vessel propulsion and maneuvering.
  • Commissioning and Integration:
    • Oversee and manage the installation, integration, and testing of electrical systems during vessel construction or retrofitting.
    • Conduct thorough system testing and validation, troubleshooting as necessary, and collaborate with shipyards and project teams for proper integration.
  • System Optimization and Performance:
    • Analyze the performance and efficiency of propulsion and control systems, identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Collaborate with R&D teams on innovative energy management and propulsion solutions to address marine industry challenges.
  • Documentation:
    • Prepare comprehensive documentation, including manuals, maintenance guides, commissioning reports, and as-built drawings.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations (IMO, ABS, DNV, etc.) and collaborate with regulatory bodies for certifications.


Job Requirements:

  • Diploma/Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, with 5+ years of relevant experience in marine systems.
  • Proficiency in electrical design tools and a solid understanding of marine electrical systems and industry standards.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel for installation, integration, and commissioning activities domestically and internationally.
