Job summary

Celestica in Penang is seeking a Senior Electrical Control System Engineer to design and develop technical solutions in automation. You will work independently in a limited field and collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure safe, reliable control systems.

Responsibilities include creating schematics, BOMs, panel layouts, performing testing and simulations, interfacing with suppliers and customers, analyzing data, and supporting manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify and implement systems with schematics, cable routing diagrams, panel layouts, and BOMs.

• Analyze and interpret data and information to inform decisions.
• Provide support during the manufacturing process.
• Recommend modifications for systems and create reports and documentation.
• Project Management: manage a single line engineering project with limited participants and plan roles.

Senior Electrical Control System Engineer (ATS Penang)

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Work independently to design and develop technical solutions without assistance in a limited number of technical fields supporting common segments/technologies. May also solve complex problems in cooperation with a team of other engineers.

Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers to design a control system that will enable the system to perform its intended function safely and reliably.

Perform engineering calculations with respect to power consumption, current capacity, shielding, signal integrity, risk assessment, etc., as related to automation machinery and product designs.

Develops new product prototypes to validate automation and product designs meets performance requirements, quality, and cost goals

Attend and interact in technical customer meetings.

Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs. e.g. creation of Schematics, Cable Routing Diagrams, Panel Layouts, Bills of Material, diagrams, drawings, etc.

Testing, simulation and measuring (including troubleshooting) the performance of systems

Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations

Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.

Analyze and interpret data and information

Provide support during the manufacturing process

Recommend modifications for systems

Create reports and documentation

Project Management - Ability to manage a single line engineering project with a limited number of participants. Create a project/change management plan, establish and distribute project roles, and communicate what is needed from the project participants in order to make the project successful.

Financial Acumen / Business Planning - Solid understanding of Celestica’s budgeting and accounting system and the cost accounting practices relevant to engineering work. Always act with the awareness of your work's impact on financial results. Communicate clearly and timely all aspects of your work that may have an influence on the profitability of the project and/or what is necessary for proper accounting and controlling.
