Senior Economist, Regional Economic Surveillance
  • Academic Qualifications: Degree or professional qualifications in economics, banking, or finance.
  • Experience: Preferably at least 5 years of experience in the Economics and Financial Sector.
  • Review and recommend independent assessments on economic surveillance and output from Bank’s BNM Offices and Headquarters to ensure alignment with forecasting and surveillance needs of the Economics Department and other Line Departments.
  • Lead strategic engagements between the Bank, key industry players, and relevant Government agencies in the region to obtain timely and in-depth economic and financial insights.
  • Conduct in-depth research leveraging insights from industrial engagements to monitor cyclical and structural developments, identify emerging risks, and design industry policy proposals.
  • Lead collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, including state and multilateral agencies, to identify and review regional economic trends and improve surveillance.
  • Support the JLPB and Regional Head in driving the Bank’s strategic agenda at the regional level, providing strategic direction on performance, training, research, and other areas as needed.
