Senior Director of Financial Engineering

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Financial Engineering & Reporting to lead the innovative and strategic management of their company's financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in creative accounting techniques with a strong commitment to optimizing financial performance, ensuring transparency, and navigating complex financial landscapes. This role will involve driving strategic financial reporting initiatives, collaborating with senior leadership to inform decision-making, and overseeing financial compliance while implementing creative solutions within the bounds of accounting regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Reporting & Optimization: Oversee the development and enhancement of financial reporting strategies. Lead initiatives that utilize advanced accounting techniques to improve financial outcomes, manage profitability, and optimize tax structures, ensuring legal compliance at all times.

Creative Accounting Solutions: Apply innovative approaches to accounting practices, leveraging non-traditional methods to align financial results with business objectives. This includes maximizing efficiencies in revenue recognition, cost management, and asset/liability reporting.

Financial Strategy: Collaborate closely with the executive team to design and implement financial strategies that drive growth, minimize risks, and align with corporate goals. Use creative accounting techniques to present financial data in the most strategic and impactful way for investors, stakeholders, and board members.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all creative accounting practices remain within legal and ethical standards. Monitor changes in accounting laws and regulations, adjusting practices as necessary to remain compliant while achieving optimal financial results.

Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency. Ensure that all team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge to implement advanced accounting strategies.

Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Tax, Audit, Treasury) to ensure alignment of financial practices across the organization. Communicate complex accounting strategies and their impact on business performance to senior management and stakeholders.

Reporting & Forecasting: Ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting. Provide detailed analysis and recommendations to senior leadership on financial trends, risks, and opportunities based on creative accounting techniques.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

At least 10+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance strategy, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on innovative or strategic financial reporting.

Proven track record of managing high-performing teams, driving change, and working collaboratively with senior management.

Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex financial problems while adhering to legal requirements.

Strong communication skills, able to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Strategic thinker with a high degree of creativity and analytical ability.
