Project description

Our client, a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices across 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, is looking for Consultants to join their project. The Technology and Operations function comprises five specialized teams: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. These teams collaborate closely to leverage technology in supporting physical and digital banking services and operations, including developing, centralizing, and standardizing technology systems and banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches. With over 80 years of history in the banking industry, the client is expanding its footprint in Malaysia. The selected candidate will work in a newly established technology center in Kuala Lumpur as part of the Technology and Operations team, delivering innovative financial technology solutions to support business growth and technological transformation.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide application support to various business users, attending to queries and requests promptly and ensuring proper closure.
  2. Support development teams with pipeline jobs and tools configuration.
  3. Troubleshoot server or tool issues.
  4. Identify opportunities to improve development pipelines through automation.
  5. Collaborate with developers and tech leads to set up CI/CD tools according to specifications.
  6. Ensure proper access control and governance of CI/CD pipeline jobs.
  7. Contribute to improvement initiatives related to methods, tools, architecture, project management, and governance.
  8. Provide insights, measurement, accountability, and foster a positive working environment.
  9. Enhance and develop projects or change requests, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  10. Participate in user requirements gathering, providing impact analysis and effort estimation.
  11. Resolve reported incidents timely to meet service level targets, including failures, queries, and event alerts.
  12. Perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and minimize impact of incidents.
  13. Proactively manage incidents and problems, prioritizing issues and escalating as necessary.
  14. Collaborate with the development team for resolution identification and release transition into production.
  15. Adopt standard incident and problem management workflows, including proper logging and change management processes.
  16. Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity management activities or infrastructure upgrades.
  17. Monitor and analyze capacity and performance data to forecast future application capacity needs.
  18. Undertake additional responsibilities such as management reporting and other project initiatives as needed.

Skills

Must have

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of experience in application development and support within the banking/finance sector, with knowledge of GL, MAS, GST, regulatory, and reporting/business intelligence.
  • Experience with Unix/Windows platforms, batch scheduling tools, database query skills, and BI tools.
  • Technical skills: Jenkins (CI/CD setup), Bitbucket, SonarQube.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of front-to-back banking processes, finance, risk, and accounting data across sectors.
  • Proven incident/problem management and organizational skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Git, JFrog, CI/CD setup, Splunk, Ansible, Kubernetes, Liquibase, Tomcat.
  • Understanding of finance, risk, accounting, and ITIL frameworks is advantageous.
