Candidate has a least Degree in Mechanical Engineering or at least an equivalent professional qualification with a Mechanical/Industrial Engineering background.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Product preferably (although not mandatory) in Oil and Gas industry including the FEA analysis

Proficient in FEA Workbench, SolidWorks 3D & Simulation, and ASME BPVC Section VIII Div. 2.

Experience with linear/non-linear analysis, contact and plasticity, pressure and thermal loading, and fatigue assessments.

Strong CAD skills and understanding of machining, welding, and fabrication practices.

Job Responsibilities

Produce 3D model assembly and machine shop drawings as an initial measure for familiarity and then delegate the task to Draftsmen for production of standard/mature designs.

Analysis of job’s specifications.

Perform FEA analysis (stress, fatigue, contact, bending moment) for valve bodies, bonnets, closures, and internal trim components using ANSYS.

Apply ASME VIII Div. 2 design-by-analysis methods to verify structural integrity under pressure and thermal loading.

Prepare detailed FEA reports with design recommendations and code compliance summaries.

Support design qualification processes including third-party verification and customer reviews.

Prepare and review Engineering FAT & MDS procedures.

Work with the management and rest of the design team to increase levels of standardization within the business. This is typically but not necessarily done by integrating processes with the ERP.

Assist The Sales and TC Department with off-standard technical queries.

Continuous improvement of design and where possible, the machining process to effect better cost savings for Mir Valve.

Build the Bill of Materials for new designs as a first measure and then delegate task to Technical Administrator for production of standard/mature designs.

Provide technical support to Quality Control, Assembly and Testing Teams

Ensure that any manufacturing build concerns are corrected and documented to ensure current and future product quality.

Adhere to and suggest improvements to departmental procedures as well as produce said procedures.

Coordinate and resolve technical issues on projects. This typically involves technical meetings, clarification documents, and teleconferences with client engagements.

Adopt an open approach and effective working relationship with the rest of business.

Review design/ drawings (General Arrangements) to ensure meeting customer technical specifications.

Supervise and manage the range of tasks assigned to Draftsmen and Tech Administrators to ensure deadlines are met.
