Responsibilities
- Lead process design and optimization initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- To guide and coordinate designers in technical enquiries from internal/ external parties.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including flow diagrams, design development records/ database for costing and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Check and verify Boiler Specification Record (BSR) against customer requirements in sales contract.
- To perform boiler design task, ensuring stress calculation and drawings was performed in accordance to BSR, Boiler or Unfired Pressure Vessel (UPV) design code (BS1113/BS 2790/ASME Sec.I or Sec.VIII Div.1and etc.) and statutory regulations (FMA.1967, EQA 2014 etc).
- To review and ensure accuracy of engineering design output from designer or draughtsman.
- To control all design task to be carry out within design schedule.
- Conduct site visits to assess and enhance existing boiler designs while assisting in feature improvements and optimizations for boiler applications.
- To attend meeting and provide technical expertise and materials (PFD, PID, supporting documents, etc) for tender and proposals.
- Liaise with 3rd inspecting party and JKKP for securing Boiler or UPV design approval.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process-related issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvements.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and other staff on best practices and process methodologies.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.

Experience / Skills Required
- Degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering recognised by Board of Engineers (BEM).
- Engineering knowledge in heat transfer, combustion, strength of material and fluid mechanic.
- Knowledge in engineering drawing and able to operate CAD software (AutoCad 2D/SolidWork 3D).
- Accumulated experience on the process of boiler fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance.
- Able to understand clearly and resolve the engineering design matter.
- Able to cope up with the market trend, price conscious, and exceed customer’s expectations.
