A leading company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Legal Assistant to manage various legal responsibilities including drafting contracts and ensuring compliance with legal standards. The position involves collaboration with international legal teams and supports the execution of governance policies. Ideal candidates will have a law degree and some experience in legal analysis.
■Job Summary:
In this position, you will be responsible for a wide range of legal duties, including drafting and reviewing contracts, analyzing and resolving legal issues, maintaining and promoting compliance, and conducting internal training sessions. Additionally, you will collaborate with the legal teams at the Tokyo headquarters and the Singapore regional headquarters to ensure adherence to legal standards and manage updates on the latest legal and regulatory information.
■Details:
•To assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising various contracts related to the trading business (e.g., NDA, MOU, S&P agreements, distribution agreements, commission agreements, service agreements), under minimal or almost no guidance from senior legal team members.
•To identify and analyze legal issues related to business activities and propose solutions, under minimal or almost no guidance from senior legal team members.
•To support the management of statutory requirements of a locally incorporated company and branch company, collaborating with relevant departments to ensure compliance.
•To assist the Division GM in upholding corporate governance and compliance policies by supporting the implementation of these policies within the company, while learning about industry standards.
•To assist in providing basic training sessions and disseminate information for employees to improve compliance and integrity literacy, working closely with HR and other departments.
•To collaborate with the legal team in the Headquarter Office (Tokyo) and Regional Headquarter Office (Singapore), ensuring legal standards are met, and applying theoretical knowledge to practical tasks.
•To assist in keeping management updated on legislative or regulatory changes, contributing to research and reports on new legal developments as they relate to business operations.
