Job summary

Averis is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Kuala Lumpur to lead our data engineering team and drive scalable, governed data foundations and pipelines. You will work with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs and ensure data solutions align with organizational goals for data-driven decision making.

The role requires 8+ years in data engineering/analytics, strong leadership, and expertise in the modern data stack, with Databricks as a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
8+ years in data engineering or data analytics roles, with leadership experience.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for complex business problems.
Familiarity with modern data stack and data visualization technologies.
Experience with Databricks; ability to integrate with data engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into designs and efficient data pipelines.
Provide technical design and architecture guidance for a modern data stack supporting governance, scalability, and reporting.
Design and implement scalable data foundations and pipelines across on‑premise and cloud infrastructure.
Build data lakes and data warehouses for management reporting and analytics environments.
Lead and mentor junior engineers to foster growth and knowledge sharing.
