Job summary

Carousell Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own end‑to‑end data engineering projects, from design to production. You will design, build, and optimize high‑volume ETL/ELT pipelines across marketplace data and user behavior, leveraging AI coding tools to boost productivity while ensuring reliability and cost control.

You will collaborate with Data Scientists and Analysts to enable personalization, pricing intelligence, fraud detection, and ML initiatives, while driving data warehouse

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent).
• Mastery of SQL, Linux shell scripting, and proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or Golang.
• Strong command of ETL/ELT concepts and orchestration tools (Airflow).
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, plan, and own data engineering projects and pipelines from design to production.
• Build and optimize high-volume ETL/ELT pipelines across listings, user behavior, and transaction data.
• Pilot AI-assisted patterns and internal tools to improve automation and speed.
• Lead architecture of data warehouse migration and governance.
• Partner with data scientists to enable ML-driven initiatives.
