Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years working experience in Data Analytics or Technical Project Management.
• Proven experience in managing software development projects.
• Experience with government-related IT projects is a plus.
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles and tools.
• Proficiency in Malay and English, both written and spoken.

Overview

Position Purpose & Summary
As a Senior Data Analytics Executive who has a strong background in data analysis, statistical modelling and data visualization with a passion for transforming raw data into actionable insights, he/ she plays a crucial role in monitoring data-driven decision-making analytical initiatives undertaken by the contractor.

Responsibilities

• Data Collection: Monitor the contractor’s activities in gathering data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, IoT devices, sensors, social media platforms and more.
• Data Cleaning: Monitor the contractor’s activities in pre-processing and cleaning the data to remove inconsistencies, errors, duplicates, and irrelevant information. This is to ensure that the data is accurate and ready for analysis.
• Data Exploration: Monitor the contractor’s activities in exploring the dataset to understand its structure, relationships, and patterns. This involves techniques such as descriptive statistics, data visualization, and exploratory data analysis (EDA).
• Data Modelling: Monitor the contractor’s activities in building mathematical models and algorithms to analyse the data and extract insights. This may include statistical models, machine learning models, predictive analytics, and clustering techniques.
• Data Visualization: Monitor the contractor’s activities in creating visual representations of data to communicate insights effectively. This includes charts, graphs, dashboards, and interactive visualizations that make complex information easy to understand.
• Data Interpretation: Provide suitable advice to the contractor’s interpretation of the data analysis to ensure that the interpretation derived has meaningful insights supported with actionable recommendations. This involves identifying trends, correlations, anomalies, and key drivers that impact business outcomes.
• Predictive Analytics: Monitor the contractor’s activities in using historical data to forecast future trends, behaviours, and outcomes. Predictive analytics involves techniques such as regression analysis, time series analysis, machine learning algorithms and more.
• Prescriptive Analytics: Monitor the contractor’s activities in recommending actions or decisions based on the insights derived from data analysis. Prescriptive analytics goes beyond predicting outcomes to suggest the best course of action to achieve desired objectives.
• Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor the key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics established by the contractor to ensure the effectiveness of the contractor’s data-driven strategies and initiatives. This involves tracking trends over time and making adjustments as needed.
• Data Governance and Compliance: Ensure that data analytics activities performed by the contractor comply with regulatory requirements and ethical standards. This includes data privacy, security, and governance practices to protect sensitive information and maintain data integrity.
• Attend meetings, document all essential information, and continuously monitor the status and progress of data analytics activities executed by contractors.
• Prepare and present detailed monthly technical reports covering status and progress of data analytics projects, issues and challenges encountered, performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), and quality and integrity of data analytics outputs.
• Provide insights on the overall quality of data analytics processes and deliverables.

• Minimum 7 years working experience in Data Analytics or Technical Project Management related to Data Analytics domain.
• Proven experience in managing software development projects.
• Experience with government-related IT projects is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or any related fields.

Technical/ Functional Skills

• Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modelling, data visualization and programming (e.g., Python, R, SQL or other commonly used in data analytics) with a minimum 3 years of experience.
• Strong understanding of data visualization principles and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Malay and English, both written and spoken.
