Overview

IDC’s Worldwide Imaging Tracker group is looking for an individual with strong analytical, communication and data management skills to be part of our team covering the Imaging products space tracking Quarterly shipments, forecasting, and trend analysis by country.

Primary responsibilities include working and coordinating the efforts of IDC analysts around the world and to meet a very tight deliverable schedule, data management, as well as analyzing and reporting on Imaging market dynamics and competitive analysis. This program has very high visibility with major IT vendors and industry players alike.

Responsibilities

You will be reported to the Director of Imaging Trackers. Your responsibilities as a Sr. Research Analyst – Imaging Trackers will include, but not be limited to

Direct contributions as an analyst, via primary analysis and report writing, on research produced within the regional research group. You will be required to produce documents using IDC methodology, taxonomy, and formats, focused on, but not limited to, the following areas

• Market and Competitive Analysis
• Technology Trends and Predictions
• Data Trackers
• User Demands and Preferences
• Business Models & Practices
• Client Presentations

Analysis and Research

• Tracking, analyzing and market sizing of the Imaging market on a quarterly basis
• Data analysis including collection, entry, processing, and maintenance of databases for regional and worldwide research programs
• Report writing via consolidation of primary research conducted via interviews
• Creating and maintaining research databases
• Coordinating & collaboration with domain specialists within IDC on constructing reports and research at the worldwide, regional and sub-regional levels
• Participating in, or contributing to local, regional, and worldwide consulting projects
• Questionnaire design and execution
• Presentation of findings to IDC clients
• Answer client inquiries and track client interactions
• Assist and co-product press releases, media queries and appearances

Consulting Projects

• Contributing to worldwide, regional, and sub-regional projects
• Keeping current with industry trends and new research, locally and globally
• Providing support to worldwide, regional, and local consulting/custom research

Business Development

• Support of worldwide and Asia Pacific business development efforts
• Present to customers as well as industry conferences/events
• Support during sales presentation

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Economics is preferred
• 5+ years of data analysis or market research experience in the IT industry with a preference for experience in the high-tech industry
• Ability to clearly communicate and report data analysis
• Ability to work under supervision with guidance and in a team environment
• Advanced use of Microsoft Access and Excel
• The best candidates will also possess experience with problem-solving abilities, data modelling.
• Some travel may be required.
