Job summary
A leading financial institution in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced professional for credit evaluation. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing corporate banking applications and managing credit risks. Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years in credit evaluation and possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills to ensure compliance and quality in credit decisions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years' experience in Credit Evaluation of corporate loans/private debt securities.
- Sound knowledge of credit risks including Risk Financial Ratio Analysis.

Responsibilities
- To conduct credit evaluation/assessment on credit applications from Corporate Banking, Investment Banking and Commercial Banking credit applications from Malaysia of Wholesale Credit 1 to identify/mitigate salient credit risks to ensure quality assets are booked.
- To identify pertinent credit risk issues of the credit proposals and propose the appropriate measures/actions plans to mitigate the risks identified to ensure credit quality stands up to approving authority's expectations.
- To approve credit applications within his/her delegated discretionary powers ("DP").
- To provide the support to Lending Units by liaising/discussing with Lending Units in respect of all matters related to the credit proposal with the view of strengthening the structure/terms of the credit proposals.
- To ensure that the turnaround time in credit evaluation/assessment is observed to ensure efficiency in the approval process.
- Be conversant with key industry trends and highlight any adverse market information for management attention so that appropriate actions could be taken.
- To jointly conduct site visits with Lending Units for better evaluation of risk issues.
- To provide relief to other SCM/CM in his/her absence to minimize the disruption of process work flow.
- To be conversant and keep abreast of the relevant policies, procedures, regulatory guidelines and framework to ensure compliance.
- Undertake any other functions as assigned by the Heads/Management to improve credit quality or enhance credit culture within the Banking group.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree - Preferably with Degree.
- Preferably Credit Skills Assessment (CSA)/ Certified Credit Professional (CCP/CCP-i)/ Omega Programme.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in Credit Evaluation of proposals on corporate loans/private debt securities. Sound knowledge of credit risks (Risk Financial Ratio Analysis).
- Good Interpersonal, Communication, Analysis and Writing skills.
- Good business and credit sense.
- Strong Team player.
