Role: Monthly COGS Close and Analysis
The main purposes are to:
- Accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of the COGS accounts.
- Deliver effective support to the Financial Controller in validating the COGS accounts for periodic reporting.
- Provide insightful monthly performance analysis to facilitate understanding and decision-making by senior management.
- Maximize efficiency and identify opportunities to reduce Product costs through close collaboration with other functional teams both internally and externally.
This includes the following elements:
- Responsible for Month-end closing of Product and Other COGS
- Validate and ensure accuracy and completeness of Product and Other COGS accounts
- Perform reconciliation of Interco Sales accounts
- Maintain schedules and prepare journal entries for COGS accruals & adjustments and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) allocation
- Validate inventory balances and maintain inventory records
- Prepare monthly variance analysis of forex accounts against prior periods and forecast
- Verify accuracy of vendor invoices for other COGS and price adjustments
- Systems database maintenance
- SAP Master Data maintenance of Product cost and Intercompany Prices
- SAP Master Data maintenance of Vendor and Customer
- Drive SAP and other process improvement projects
- Maintain and update documentation and flowchart of supply chain process
- Other ad-hoc accounting projects or duties as and when assigned
Job Requirements:
- A recognized degree in Business/Accountancy/Finance
- At least 4 years of working experience in cost accounting in MNCs
- Highly self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Must be meticulous and have an analytical mind
- Possess effective communication and people skills
- Possess strong skills in MS Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookups, Power Query, Power Pivot)
- Experience with SAP, Power BI and TM1
- Good organization skills
- Responsible and highly adaptable
- Team player
