Job description
Senior Conversion Optimization Analyst (Remote)

At Xsolla, we believe that great games begin as ideas, driven by the curiosity, dedication, and grit of creators around the world. Our mission is to empower these visionaries by providing the support and resources they need to bring their games to life.

Overview

Xsolla is seeking a specialist to build a systematic framework for managing payment conversion: from monitoring and response protocols to forecasting models and actionable recommendations. In this role, you will structure and expand on the current findings of the product data analytics team, establish reliable monitoring processes, launch models to identify inefficiencies (games × payment methods × regions), analyze root causes of conversion drops, and coordinate solutions across multiple teams. The main objective is to shift the Payments team’s focus toward proactive, data-driven optimization. This role involves close collaboration with product analytics, data teams, AFS, Product, and Partner Success, as well as periodic communication with external partners.

Responsibilities
  • Build end-to-end monitoring of conversion across games, regions, payment methods, PSPs/banks/acquirers.
  • Investigate low-performance signals and identify root causes of conversion decline.
  • Detect repeatable patterns and scale solutions across all traffic.
  • Develop and implement statistical and ML models (anomaly detection, trend forecasting, recommendation systems).
  • Set up prioritized alerting and response protocols (runbooks, task routing).
  • Coordinate follow-up actions with internal teams (Product, AFS, Data, Partner Success) to drive decision-making.
  • Maintain a unified knowledge base: incidents, hypotheses, solutions, metrics, and decisions.
  • Contribute to internal reports, partner updates, and strategic planning of improvements.
Requirements
  • 3–5+ years of experience in data analytics.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with time series, anomaly detection, forecasting; strong understanding of conversion funnels and end-to-end payment processes.
  • Experience building data pipelines, dashboards, alerting systems, automating reporting, and documenting processes.
  • Strong communication skills: ability to translate analytical findings into clear recommendations for teams and partners.
  • Excellent documentation practices; ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously and apply structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Ability to bring order to chaos: documentation, runbooks, backlogs, clear SLAs/prioritization.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in product operations, fintech, gaming, or payments.
  • Familiarity with interpreting payment response codes, payment flows, and PSP behavior.
  • Experience with routing/ranking of payment flows (pay-rank).
  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests.
