Job summary
Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced COBOL Mainframe Developer to join the team supporting enterprise applications in a banking environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on COBOL, JCL, VSAM and IBM Mainframe/z/OS experience, with a track record in development, maintenance, troubleshooting and production support.
Responsibilities include developing and supporting COBOL-based applications on IBM Mainframe systems, analyzing BRD/FSD, coding, testing, and deploying batch and online
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Mainframe Development experience.
- Strong COBOL and JCL expertise.
- Proficient in VSAM.
- Experience in debugging and production support.
- IDMS and production support experience is a plus.
- Experience with legacy mainframe systems.
- Banking/Cards domain experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, enhance, and support COBOL-based applications on IBM Mainframe systems.
- Analyze BRD and FSD and translate requirements into technical specs.
- Code, unit test, debug, and document changes.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot JCL for batch processing and job execution.
- Support batch processing and online transaction applications.
- Maintain and optimize applications using VSAM and IDMS.
- Analyze and resolve production issues within agreed timelines.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in SIT, UAT, deployment, and production releases.
- Provide ongoing production support and troubleshoot critical incidents.
