Job summary

Sarawak Slipways Sdn. Bhd is seeking a skilled lathe and milling operator to run CNC lathes and CNC milling machines, read basic G-code, and execute pre-programmed parts while closely monitoring cutting operations for errors.

The role requires interpreting technical drawings, performing precise measurements with micrometers, vernier calipers and dial gauges, and maintaining the equipment through routine tool changes and cleanups; prior experience in a shipyard is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years experience as lathe operator.
• Prior working experience in shipyard would be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathe and CNC milling machine.
• Able to read and program basic machining G code and also run pre-programmed parts on mills and lathes, watching the cutting process to catch errors early.
• Understand technical drawings. Able to use basic math and precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometer, vernier caliper, dial gauges, etc)
• Maintenance of cnc lathe and cnc milling machine, including changing worn tool inserts, refill coolant and oil, and clean the work area
