Job summary

ams OSRAM is seeking engineers to design, realize and evaluate AlInGaN semiconductor chips for high-performance LEDs. You will lead innovative approaches, optimize chip manufacturing processes, and collaborate with global teams to solve complex design and process challenges.

The role requires advanced degrees and 5+ years in semiconductors, with strong English and good German. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment focused on sustainable, high-quality light solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree/Masters/PhD in physics, optics, electrical engineering, material science or a related field
• Professional experience in semiconductor industry > 5 years
• Physical understanding of wafer fabrication processing techniques and tools
• Profound knowledge in the field of Nitride LEDs and device physics
• Broad experience in semiconductor frontend processes
• High level of problem‑solving competence, analytical thinking and creativity
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Full professional English proficiency; intermediate German language skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Designing, realization and evaluation of AlInGaN based semiconductor chips
• Special focus on innovative approaches towards high performance/high current LEDs
• Development of novel or optimized process flows for chip manufacturing in strong cooperation with process development and manufacturing in global teams
• Solving complex problems in design and process in a sustainable and systematic way
• Deeply analyze and understand interactions between chip design and processes flow
