Job description

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Senior Chemist located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. As a Senior Chemist at ChampionX, you will play a crucial role in developing, optimizing, and applying production chemical solutions for Oil and Gas customers. What You Will Do:

1. Contribute to technical support, product development, and selection by conducting discussions, scoping projects, executing laboratory or field tests, and writing reports.
2. Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate product performance and properties.
3. Support technical meetings and provide training to stakeholders.
4. Provide technical support to field operations, including troubleshooting and field trials.
5. Develop an understanding of ChampionX’s product range and assist in product development.
6. Collaborate with regional and global teams on customer solutions and new technologies.
7. Follow safety policies and update related documents.
8. Maintain laboratory operations and equipment calibration.
9. Pursue self-development through training.
10. Perform any other tasks as requested.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Degree or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
2. At least 5 years of related experience with a degree or higher.

Preferred Requirements:

1. Experience with oilfield chemicals and laboratory work.
2. Project management experience.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
4. Excellent communication skills in English.

Job Requirements:

1. Primarily laboratory and office work, with field work as needed.
2. Ability to travel overseas.
3. Long periods of standing and travel to field sites.
