Senior Chemical Engineer (Water Treatment Data Centre)

Our Water Treatment Data Centre is a newly established subsidiary of Truwater Cooling Towers Sdn Bhd, 100% owned by Seagull Cooling Technologies (Asia Pacific) Sdn Bhd, based in Johor Senai. It supports cutting‑edge water treatment research and experimental projects for data centres.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to join our growing team. This role is central to conducting experimental water treatment projects, analysing water quality performance and supporting the integration of sustainable water management.

The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, hands‑on and eager to contribute to pioneering research for the data centre industry. You will be based at our Johor Senai site, working closely with local teams and our group R&D and project divisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct water quality testing and treatment experiments for Data Centre applications.
• Perform sampling, monitoring and analysis of key water parameters (e.g., pH, conductivity, TDS, hardness, corrosion, microbiological levels).
• Assist in the development, testing and evaluation of new water treatment methods, chemicals and filtration technologies.
• Operate and maintain laboratory and field‑testing equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable test results.
• Document test procedures, results and findings in detailed technical reports.
• Collaborate with the group’s R&D team, project engineers and clients to support experimental trials and provide technical input.
• Ensure testing processes comply with safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry best practices in Water Treatment and Data Centre performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in water treatment, water quality testing or laboratory analysis; fresh graduates with relevant project experience are welcome.
• Strong foundation in water chemistry or industrial water treatment systems.
• Hands‑on experience with laboratory instruments, test kits or water analysis equipment is an advantage.
• Good analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.
• A proactive, independent worker who also thrives in a team environment.
• Willing to be based in Johor Senai and support on‑site experimental projects.
