Qualifications

Senior CAD Engineer – Mechanical Systems

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior CAD Engineer – Mechanical Systems to join our Engineering team. The role involves leading the creation, modification, and management of 3D CAD models and production drawings for complex mechanical assemblies and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across regions and support the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing and ensuring that all designs meet technical specifications, safety standards, and project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Create detailed 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings using CAD software (e.g.,

SolidWorks).

2. Collaborate with engineers to translate concepts and prototypes into production-ready designs.

3. Ensure drawings conform to relevant industry and company standards.

4. Maintain drawing records and version control through proper documentation practices.

5. Update and revise designs to accommodate engineering changes or improve manufacturing efficiency.

6. Liaise with the production team to resolve technical issues and optimize manufacturability.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in CAD software, especially SolidWorks.

· Knowledge of engineering drawing standards (e.g., AS1100 or ISO equivalents).

· Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, welding symbols, and mechanical assembly methods.

· Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) generation and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.

· Ability to interpret and create technical documentation, such as parts lists and engineering change notices.

· Having experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) or Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations,

while not a strict requirement, is a strong advantage in the hiring process.

Soft Skills:

· Excellent English communication skills to effectively interact with international and cross-location team members.

· Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate seamlessly across functions and departments.

· Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, high-paced production environment.

· Analytical and solution-oriented mindset, with a proactive approach to suggesting design or process improvements.

· Collaborative and team-driven attitude, focused on achieving shared goals and driving continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

Qualifications:

· Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Production Engineering, or Equivalent Technical qualification.

· Formal training or certification in CAD drafting (preferred but not essential).

Experience:

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an engineering design and drafting.

· Experience working with mechanical components and systems, preferably in the heavy-duty equipment or

sheet metal fabrication sector.

· Good Knowledge of internal combustion engines and heat transfer.

· Proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience.
