A prominent Electronic Manufacturing Services provider is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team in the Penang Island area. With a goal to become the market leader, the company has consistently innovated and grown. As part of their expansion, they are looking for a skilled Senior Buyer to strengthen their team.

Job Description

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet company sourcing policies and customer requirements, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance with quality and national standards.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives with a strong focus on achieving year-over-year cost reductions by consistently reviewing procurement activities and material usage for improvement opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery, optimal lead times, consistent quality, and favorable pricing; negotiate long-term agreements and resolve supply-related issues, including delays, discrepancies, and shortages.
• Coordinate closely with internal teams-sales, program managers, warehouse, and accounts payable-to manage material orders, expedite deliveries, adjust schedules, and resolve invoicing or receiving discrepancies.
• Support purchasing team operations by supervising daily activities, developing and monitoring KPIs, assisting in staff performance evaluations, hiring, training, and ensuring ISO/AS9100 compliance and continuous process improvement.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, with 6-8 years of experience in material planning, procurement, and sourcing-preferably in Tier 1, aerospace, industrial, or semiconductor industries.
• Strong background in sourcing raw material components for cable assemblies and harnesses, with hands-on experience using MRP/ERP systems and inventory management programs (JIT, VMI, Kanban).
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Demonstrates integrity and professionalism, leading by example and earning trust from colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work independently and on time.
