PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily job responsibilities/functions include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for selecting and evaluating suppliers that meet Rapid’s sourcing policy and customer requirements.
• Evaluate supplier pricing at the time of quoting to obtain the best available price.
• Actively pursue year-over-year cost reductions (Strategic Sourcing).
• Review procurement activity and material usage regularly to ensure competitiveness and meet cost reduction targets.
• Plan and execute project assignments related to purchasing as assigned by management.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality, on-time delivery, cost, and lead-times.
• Ensure purchased products and services meet quality requirements and standards.
• Negotiate long-term pricing and stocking agreements with suppliers.
• Order materials and work with suppliers for on-time delivery, correct pricing, and changes or cancellations.
• Expedite and escalate supplier delivery commitments to support production.
• Coordinate with program managers and sales to adjust delivery dates and resolve discrepancies.
• Work with warehouse and accounts payable to resolve receiving and invoicing issues.
• Assist in formulating, monitoring, and evaluating KPIs for Purchasing & Sourcing.
• Assist in employee performance evaluations, interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching.
• Establish KPIs to measure performance of new processes or activities.
• Supervise direct reports to meet daily goals.
• Understand root cause analysis and preventive actions for continuous improvement.
• Ensure staff compliance with ISO/AS9100 standards.
• Serve as backup for the Purchasing & Sourcing team.
• Take full ownership of the position and perform other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

• Use of ERP/MRP or other systems.
• 6-8 years of material planning, procurement, and sourcing experience in Tier 1, aerospace, industrial, or semiconductor sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and inventory management programs like JIT, VMI, Kanban.
• Experience procuring raw materials for cable assemblies and harnesses.
• Experience dealing with suppliers in high-mix, low-volume, and NPI environments globally.
• Supplier negotiations for short- and long-term contracts.
• Experience in purchasing and sourcing components in semiconductor, contract manufacturing, and aerospace industries.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working with large bills of materials.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Strong problem analysis and solution implementation skills.
