Job summary

Horizontal Talent is seeking an experienced Senior BI Developer on a 12-month contract in Kuala Lumpur. You will design, develop, and optimize BI solutions using the Microsoft BI Stack while partnering with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data models and dashboards.

Responsibilities include ETL development with SSIS, data warehousing, and ensuring governance, security, and reporting accuracy across Power BI, SSRS, Tableau or similar tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a BI Developer or Senior BI Developer.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft BI Stack: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI.
• Experience with data warehousing and BI performance optimization.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and deliver projects within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Gather and translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Design and maintain data models, data warehouses, and dimensional models.
• Develop and optimize ETL processes using SSIS.
• Build interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for reporting and analytics.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and reporting accuracy.
• Improve BI solution performance and troubleshoot reporting issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and business stakeholders.
• Maintain technical documentation for BI solutions, ETL workflows, and data models.
• Support BI projects, provide user training, and stay updated with emerging BI technologies.
