AEON Permas Jaya Johor is seeking an Assistant Chief Baker to supervise the bakery department, including display, baking, and shop floor activities.

The role includes training staff, planning daily production, ensuring quality control, achieving sales targets, and maintaining records. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia and shift work are required. AEON Malaysia offers a structured retail environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in retail operations management or related field.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Able to work on shift including off days, rest days or public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily bakery department operations: merchandise display, baking, and table work.
• Train new staff on pastries, cakes and bread making; conduct follow-up training on new methods or products.
• Oversee staff performance and provide teaching as necessary; delegate tasks.
• Manage bakery production planning and quantities for the next day; control raw materials.
• Aim to achieve the department's sales targets and implement promotional measures.
• Maintain quality control by checking products before sale; ensure recipes are followed and updated.
• Keep records of production, stock movement, and losses for the area; manage documentation.
• Collaborate with store management on promotions and festival activities to boost sales.
• Handle disciplinary guidelines and policies in staff administration; monitor KPI-based salary adjustments.
• Other duties as assigned by management based on business needs.
